[課堂心得]4/27讀者服務研討-特殊讀者服務

今天廢話不多說,一開始就是第七組
所以就先放我報告的投影片~
內容是高齡讀者、失控讀者、出院的身心障礙使用者

    而是表示有能力提供這些服務,去滿足不同使用者類型的需求

  • IFLA相當強調視障者的服務,1983年就成立視障部門,強調科技應用、取用性(全球虛擬視障圖書館)
  • 讀者行為是多元且動態的,館方的服務哲學應維持「沒有問題、不怕麻煩」
Teacher Time
首先在特殊讀者議題部分,書梅老師指出圖書館面對特殊讀者時不能將其貼上標籤
這些需要特殊協助的使用者,特別需要館方的「特別關愛」
因為他們的生理或心理身處在一個比正常人「Weak」的情況下,館員必須嘗試去理解與幫助他們
一切都不會麻煩「No Problem原則」
即使在面對有偏差行為的問題讀者也是一樣,不過同時也要設定一些底限(容忍程度)才行!!
另一方面老師指出目前台大圖書館所推出的的新活動「樂活心主張
其實就是他數年前已經希望推動的書目療法,不過當時館方沒有採納
理由是:圖書館不需要與心理治療有關連
這個活動期中有一個插曲就是「早安圖書館」

老師覺得這是一個不理想的行銷,並不是說他沒有創意,而是內容沒有抓到重點
無法讓觀眾知道台大圖書館提供哪些產品、服務對象、服務內容以及不來會後悔的感覺
只會曉得「圖書館歡迎你!」不過老師還是覺得他們很有創意
最後就是老師認為目前圖書館的館員的心態需要重新調整
將創意精神融入服務,才有可能突破界線
而不是一味害怕一些不理解的事物(如書目療法、心理治療)而拒絕

個人總結


一般來說,圖書館的讀者服務都具備一致的政策、規則與業務內容。然而讀者服務是一個與「人群」有密切接觸的工作,當館員不斷面對各式各樣的使用者需求,或甚至有生理或心理障礙的使用者時,圖書館必須適切地提供他們特殊的服務,以達到圖書館對所有人免費取用資訊的義務。因此我將對圖書館的「特殊讀者服務」之心得列點如下

一. 館員態度
一般圖書館館員會認為面對一般使用者時已十分繁忙,倘若再加入特殊服務則是一種煎熬。但事實上特殊服務的提供,對圖書館來說並不是新鮮事,更不是恩典,而是讀者服務的本質。只是服務對象的個別需求呈現「團體聚集」的現象(如老年人、身心障礙者等),因此館員必須秉持平常心與客觀服務的態度去服務每一位使用者。

二. 館員訓練
有心理層面上的建立後,在實際操作面上館員會遭遇許多麻煩。例如面對一些精神病患、受刑者等特殊類型的讀者時,館員會產生恐慌與猶疑。在此類型的狀況,服務的圖書館方必須事先對館員進行訓練,使館員先進入整個特殊服務的狀況中,一來可能減少不必要的誤會,二來也會增進服務品質與效率。

三. 館方政策
承襲上述,特殊讀者服務往往會有例行性、定期性、不定期性的活動內容。執行的主管必須先擬定相關政策與方法,根據服務目標進行各種需求的分析(資訊本身、設備器材、人員、時間等)。這樣一來在最後執行服務時才會順利、有意義以及持之以恆。

四. 服務理念
圖書館的基本服務理念就是「Free for All」!因此一視同仁的精神不能淪為口號,而必須反映在實務工作的內容上。也許對館方來說,面對特殊讀者群是一種業務量的增加與麻煩,但同時卻也是建立圖書館服務口碑、推廣的絕佳時機!
